Some of the challenges we expect to face in the implementation of the Empowa Platform, include the scaling up of service providers that will operate within the Empowa ecosystem and establishing incentive structures that will enable RealFi to open alternate funding sources for property markets and affordable housing, while tracking reputation in a decentralised way.

The Innovation Fund will therefore be used to support initiatives that intend to address some of those challenges. The funds available through the Innovation Fund will empower teams/organisations to take necessary risks associated with the development of new innovations and business models, required for the Empowa ecosystem to have impact at scale through a decentralised platform.

Decision making for the allocation of funds to different parties wishing to innovate within the Empowa ecosystem will become more decentralised as the Empowa project matures, with governance processes (such as those used by Cardano’s Project Catalyst) being a core long term objective.
